Senior Vice-President and President-elect Tracy Fitzsimmons realizes the importance of providing students and faculty with the necessary tools that enable self-reflection and the sharing of creativity with others. On July 9, 2007, an Apple technology lab was opened in Ruebush Hall, Room 111.
SoundTree did the installation, has three highly qualified instructors on site (from July 9--July 20), and will return for faculty training in August 2007 before the start of classes.
Dr. James Frankel, Dr. Lee Whitmore, and Brad Smith have been the instructors for the July 2007 teaching sessions for the Performing Arts Camp, the doctoral and masters studnts, and an open enrollment evening program.
Dr. Emily Threinen (Shenandoah Conservatory's new Director of Bands) was selected to be a part of an elite conducting workshop led by Prof. Frank Wickes, Director of Bands at Louisiana State University.
Prof. Wing Ho viola professor from Beijing's Central Conservatory is currently a visiting professor at the Yale School of Music. Two of his students Zhuo(卓) Diao and Shou Diao and are enrolled at Shenandoah Conservatory and studying with Doris Lederer. He brought 4 other Chinese students with him for a gala viola concert .

Our excellent staff in the Conservatory Box Office have reported that the Theatre for Youth production of "Go Dog Go" was the first run of multiple performances to sell-out 100%. Congratulations to Prof. Wade Fransen and the talented students in the Theatre for Youth program who staged this production.
Both on campus and at Lorton's Workhouse the Conservatory's Dance Division has recreated and staged seminal works by multi media innovator and celebrated choreographer Alwin Nickolais. Here is a photo of Nickolias' "Girl's Trio," in a recent performance in Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre on the Shenandoah University campus.
